Kevin Galvin

President: 2005-2011 - IN MEMORIAM

Kevin Galvin was a lead designer of a direct marketing system for catalog companies. His main interest beyond work life was preservation. He enjoyed bringing his home, the William Marston House (circa 1780), back to the period in which it was built. He developed the Herring Counting System to keep track of the herring migration and enlisted volunteers to count each spring. Kevin was on the board of the Barnstable Land Trust and helped to preserve land alongside Mill and Eagle Ponds. He also enjoyed the camaraderie of the community during Village Days and River Days in Marstons Mills, which he hosted at his home several times. One of his last projects as President of the Historical Society was initiating the digitization of its historical documents.
